3 days in Wuhan
The essential river-city route: Wuchang's landmark morning, Hubei's greatest museum and lake, then Hankou's historic waterfront and a real local dinner.
Best for three full sightseeing days. Stay near Jianghan Road for Hankou evenings, or near a useful Wuchang metro station if the museum is your priority. Book the museum first, then move outdoor days around rain, heat and crowd notices.
Yellow Crane Tower and the old bridge
Hubu Lane → Yellow Crane Tower → Yangtze River Bridge → Tanhualin or Liangdao Street.
07:30 — breakfast before the landmark
Start at Hubu Lane (户部巷) for a light introduction to Wuhan breakfast: hot dry noodles, doupi or a sesame pastry. Go for one or two things, not every stall. Then save 黄鹤楼 in your map app and walk or use the metro to the correct entrance.
09:00 — Yellow Crane Tower
Use the current official booking and carry the passport tied to it. The tower is a city view and a cultural landmark, not a quick photo stop; give it time for the river panorama, then descend before the late-morning crowd builds.
12:30–17:00 — cross the old Yangtze bridge
Walk a safe, signposted section of Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge or view it from the riverbank. Do not turn a bridge crossing into a long cross-city detour. Finish in Tanhualin or Liangdao Street for coffee and a calmer Wuchang evening.
Move: keep 黄鹤楼, 户部巷 and 武汉长江大桥 saved in Chinese. For heat or rain, shorten the bridge walk and use the metro rather than pushing through.

Bronze bells and East Lake
Hubei Provincial Museum → lunch near Donghu → East Lake Greenway.
08:30 — arrive for your museum session
Hubei Provincial Museum is the non-negotiable booking of this short trip. Bring the original passport used for the reservation, go through security calmly and make the Marquis Yi of Zeng bronze bells the centre of the visit rather than racing through every room.
13:00 — reset before the lake
Have lunch near the museum or Donghu. East Lake is huge: choose one section of greenway, one shore walk or one low-effort bike ride. It is not realistic to circle the entire lake in a single afternoon.
16:00 — leave while energy is still good
Return before dark unless you have a fixed, verified restaurant plan. In summer, treat the museum as your air-conditioned middle of the day and carry water for the lake.
Move: metro and a short official bus/taxi connection are more reliable than trying to walk between the museum and lake entrances. Save 湖北省博物馆 and 东湖绿道.

Hankou, the river and a local dinner
Jianghan Road → historic waterfront → Hankou River Beach → Xuesong Road.
09:30 — Jianghan Road without the rush
Begin at Jianghan Road Pedestrian Street, then turn into the older side streets rather than only following the shopping crowds. The architectural contrast is the reason to be here; keep the day loose enough to stop for coffee or a small museum.
15:30 — riverfront at the right time
Walk a practical section of the Hankou riverfront and beach as the afternoon cools. Check conditions after heavy rain and obey barriers. The open river view is better than trying to pack in another cross-city landmark.
18:30 — Xuesong Road, one good dinner
Go to Xuesong Road for a seated local meal rather than an endless snack crawl. Tell staff 少辣 (less spicy) or 不辣 (not spicy) if needed and explain serious allergies with a translation card.
Move: stay on the Hankou side today. Save 江汉路步行街, 汉口江滩 and 雪松路. Use DiDi only with the Chinese destination shown to the driver.

Three-day Wuhan checklist
- Passport: carry the original used for museum, hotel and rail bookings.
- Payment: connect Alipay or WeChat Pay before flying; retain small RMB cash for a backup.
- Data: install eSIM/roaming and save every stop in Chinese before the first metro ride.
- Summer: put outdoor walking before 11:00 and after 16:00; do not underestimate heat and thunderstorms.
- Transport: do not cross the Yangtze repeatedly just to save a few minutes on paper—each day is grouped by bank.
